New Friendship Garden Blooms At Greenwich's Nathaniel Witherell GREENWICH, Conn. -- With a group of donors, staff and well-wishers in attendance, the Nathaniel Witherell nursing home in Greenwich hosted the grand opening of its new friendship garden Monday, Oct. 31. The unveiling marked the culmination of a lengthy process that began with months of digging and excavating, followed by the planting of honey locust, redbud and dogwood trees, along with flowering rhododendrons, azaleas, laurels and hydrangeas. Ramapo Police Seek Public's Help In Search For Larceny Suspect RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police are seeking the public’s help in locating a fugitive. Donnie Broadnax, 46, is wanted on a charge of petty larceny, police said. The charge stems from an incident that occurred in Airmont in May 2015, according to police. Broadnax is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 230 pounds at the time of his arrest, police said. Heating Bill Subsidy Available To County Residents ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rockland County families with low incomes can apply for grants to help pay for their heating bills under New York State’s Home Energy Assistance Program beginning Monday, Nov. 14. The benefit is dependent on income and family size, and payments go directly to the utility company. The grant for families varies according to size of each household. Teen Charged With Possession Of Marijuana In Yorktown YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 19-year-old resident of Mahopac on a marijuana possession charge, police said. The arrest came about when a patrol officer stopped a black Volkswagen traveling at a high rate of speed along East Main Street on Wednesday, about 11:18 p.m., according to police. An investigation at the scene revealed the operator of the vehicle, identified as Jason J. Manzari Jr., was allegedly in possession of more than 25 grams of marijuana, police said.
