Prosecutors in Montgomery County are up in arms after a convicted murderer received what is being perceived as a light sentence. Virginia Native Shoots Wife, Killed Daughter Over 'Basic' Dispute In PA: Cops
A 76-year-old man has been arrested for killing his wife and daughter, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police Avondale announced on Friday afternoon. Roger Lee Hanks originally of Virginia most recently of Kennett Square is accused of shooting his wife and adult daughter during a dispute "in the early evening hours of April 25," as stated in the release. A 31-year-old driver and his 67-year-old passenger were killed in a Fauquier County crash this week, police said. Michael A.H. Sanson of Orange was heading south on Route 29/James Madison Highway in a Chevrolet Equinox when he ran off the right side of the road and hit a mailbox, then a tree, around 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, according to Virginia State Police. The Alexandria man who carjacked an Uber Eats driver and stole his motorized scooter last summer outside a DC Pizza Hut is heading to prison for years, officials say. Daquan Skipper, 27, was sentenced this week to eight years in prison for the July 2023 robbery of the driver, when he took his scooter and cell phone in Northeast DC. Armed Burglar Caught Fleeing Across Golf Course In Fairfax County
A man who broke into a home and robbed a woman at gunpoint was arrested after attempting to flee across a Fairfax County golf course, police said. The man broke into a home on the 2200 block of Stone Wheel Drive in Reston and robbed the woman at gunpoint. Police said only that he then tried to flee across a nearby golf course. While police did not say which golf course he fled through, the closest is Reston National Golf Course is located approximately one mile away. He was quickly apprehended, police said.

Driver, 33, Killed In High-Speed Woodbridge Crash: Cops
A 33-year-old driver was killed in an overnight crash in Woodbridge, police said. Donnell Tyquan Epps was heading north at a high rate of speed on Redwing Drive in a 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he lost control of the car and left the roadway around 2:30 a.m. near Shallow Court, county police said. The vehicle went into a ravine, causing the vehicle to roll over. Fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene where Epps, the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead. A 37-year-old woman wanted for felony hit-and-run out of Stafford was arrested after another bout of "less than ideal" driving, authorities said. Ladonna Smith of Montross had apparently been swerving and tailgating another driver on Deacon Road around 7:40 p.m. Thursday, April 25, the county sheriff said. Police ID Motorcyclist, 50, Killed In Burke Crash
Police have identified the motorcyclist killed Wednesday night, April 24 in Fairfax County. Mohab Helmy, 50, of Burke, was heading west on Old Keene Mill Road in Burke on a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle when he struck a 2005 Toyota sedan making a left turn onto Old Keene Mill Road from a shopping center just after 10 p.m., county police said.
