Over 40 Animals Kept In 'Noxious' Conditions At Long Island Home, Woman Charged: SPCA
A Long Island woman was accused of animal cruelty after she was found to be keeping dozens of animals in her house in unlivable conditions. Seventy-nine-year-old Ronkonkoma woman Linda Hart was arrested at her home on Tuesday, April 2, according to the Suffolk County Police SPCA. Man Found Dead Behind Building On Long Island
An investigation is underway after a man was found dead on Long Island. The discovery was made behind a building in Brentwood, located at 345 Washington Ave., just after noon on Wednesday, April 3. The preliminary investigation and exam were inconclusive regarding the cause of death, Suffolk County Police said. The identity of the man and a cause of death will be determined by an autopsy by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office. Alert Issued For Teen Missing From Baldwin
Police are imploring the community to assist in the search for a teen girl missing from Long Island. Allyson Amaya, age 14, was last seen on Monday, April 1, according to Nassau County Police. It was about 9 p.m. when the teen was spotted in Baldwin. Amaya is 5-foot-5 and weighs approximately 120 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. 20-Year-Old Sentenced For 'Senseless' Uniondale Murder
A 20-year-old who was convicted of murdering a man during an attempted robbery on Long Island has been sentenced to spend the next quarter of a century behind bars, authorities announced. Kyle Colthirst, of Uniondale, faced his sentence of 25 years to life on Tuesday, April 2, according to the Nassau County District Attorney. The search is on for a Long Island man who was reported missing. Robert Kane, age 74, was last seen on Arcadia Drive in West Islip at around 11 p.m. Monday, April 1.
