Fairfield Police Charge Michael Schroeder With Choking Girlfriend FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield Police arrested Michael Schroeder for allegedly choking and whipping his girlfriend in a bizarre incident at their Shady Hill Road home. Police took Schroeder into custody without incident on Aug. 16, one day after the 30-year-old Fairfield resident allegedly tried to harm himself with a knife and an empty glass beer jug, according to the CT Post. Greenburgh Installing New Playground At Lee Jackson School GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- The Greenburgh Town Board has announced the construction of a new playground at Lee Jackson School, just in time for the fall semester. Crews will install the new playground during the week of Aug. 23 at the school located at 2 Saratoga Rd., White Plains. The project is part of a $75,000 appropriation earmarked by the town board earlier this summer. The playground is open to residents during non-school hours. The town will use the school for its summer camp operations.
