Sophomore athlete Jenna Sanossian hails from Long Island and was recently chosen to participate in the two-week-long South Africa Field Hockey Tour, the page says.
Her goal is to raise $4,000 for the tour, which takes place in late June. The money covers travel, housing. and food, but not a passport or any personal items the players may need while on tour, Sanossian said.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to go travel outside of the United States and to play the sport I love all in one," the biology major said. "I would really appreciate any help you can offer because I live with my single mother and brother, who also attends college, and need help with the finances of this trip."
Sanossian, who is from Miller Place, helped lead her Rocky Point High School team to its first ever County Championship with two goals and two assists.
She received All-Tournament, All-State and the MVP awards, and was among the top scorers for Pace University. Sanossian was also the first-ever field hockey player to earn Setter of the Week.
