Through a partnership with Chase, the honor will include a monetary award of $2,000 to benefit the high school’s football program.

Lynch will be presented with a certificate and award ball, and has been invited to watch the Jets play the Buffalo Bills in Chase’s suite at MetLife Stadium on Jan.1.

Currently in its 21st year, the Coach of the Week award is given to coaches in the Tri-State area who serve the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players and the promotion of youth football through their dedication to the community, their school and their student-athletes.

“Coach Lynch has worked extremely hard to bring Hen Hud football to the forefront of Class A,” said Athletic Director Tom Baker. “We have had a very good year, and coach Lynch’s hard work, along with his staff and all of the student-athletes, has begun to pay off. We have had quite an exciting year, and everyone is looking forward to entering the post-season for the second year in a row.”

Lynch, now in his 12th season coaching at Hendrick Hudson and sixth as head coach of the program, is a 1998 graduate of Clarkstown North High School in New City, where he played quarterback and received All-Section honors.

After graduation, Lynch went to Wagner College, where he played football and lacrosse.

In addition to his coaching duties, Lynch serves as a social studies teacher at Blue Mountain Middle School.
