Ramona, a labrador retriever, is a therapy dog who assists high school students who need help with functional behavior skills, social interactions, and language as part of the school's Social Academic Independent Living Occupation Recreation program.
The dog visits the school several days a week. She was adopted by a teacher in August from Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
“One of her jobs will be to facilitate meaningful community interactions with students who may find these situations stressful," Principal James Mackin said.
The school district said they hope to have Ramona work with younger students as well.
