Strategic planning meetings take place every August at both the school district and building level.

During these meetings, goals for the upcoming school year are debated, deliberated and, hopefully, agreed upon by the end of the day.

The group analyzes student performance information and data from recent years in order to set new targets for two to three years in the future.

The committee also works out action plans in order to achieve these goals throughout the school year.

Teachers and administrators from throughout the district participate on the first of the three day process and then disperse into more focused building level planning groups for the next two days.

Of the stakeholder participants, there are usually one or two students involved.

Students' thoughts and suggestions are celebrated and incorporated into the overall discussion and planning process.

They are genuine contributors to the final product.
