Michele Schoenfeld Of White Plains Schools Wins Community Service Award

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains School District Clerk Michele Schoenfeld was awarded the Ted Benjamin Award for Community Service by the White Plains Democratic City Committee at their Annual Dinner last Sunday at Westchester Hills Golf Club.

She was presented with proclamations from Mayor Tom Roach, State Senator George Latimer, Assemblymen David Buchwald, Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, and several other local officials. In addition to her duties as district clerk, where she connects with many service organizations, Schoenfeld has been active at White Plains Hospital for many years, serving as Auxiliary President for five years and on the Hospital’s Board of Directors. 

She was instrumental in the establishment of the Caregiver Support Program at the Hospital and currently serves on the Community Relations and Marketing Committee there. She is on the Board of the Friends of White Plains Public Schools and is a member of the White Plains Recreation Advisory Committee. A former PTA President in several schools, Schoenfeld was also active in her neighborhood association and at Congregation Kol Ami.
