The CCC is also available at Mount Vernon High School and Nelson Mandela High School in Mount Vernon. The program works with kids who have college as a goal, and helps them get all the pieces in place so they can enroll.

The Westchester Community Foundation has been a major funder of this program for a few years providing for staff and tutors at the three high schools, as well as helping fund an overnight college tour for CCC students.

Goals of the program include increasing the academic readiness and GPAs of low-income, underperforming students through intensive tutoring; assisting first-generation students with their college applications and the financial aid and scholarship process; helping students select academically and financially appropriate colleges; and ensuring that students who need extra support to graduate get that support through case management services.

Funding also ensures that counselors will also attend professional development training sessions to enhance their knowledge of the complicated college process.
