Chinese American Organization Honors Greenburgh Senior At Leadership Gala

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Mei Ling Gilbert, a Woodlands High School senior in the Greenburgh Center School District, recently was one of a handful of students from the region to be recognized by the Westchester-Hudson Valley chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans at its annual leadership awards gala and dinner.

The dinner was at the Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown. 

Mei Ling, who also received a scholarship from the organization, was honored along with nine other highly accomplished Asian American students at the dinner, which was attended by about 400 people. 

A member of Woodlands' Academic Challenge team, math team and drama club, Mei Ling hopes to attend Lehman College in the fall. 

Woodlands Senior High School is at 475 West Hartsdale Avenue, White Plains.
