Scavino, a Yorktown native who lives in Hopewell Junction, received a letter from Sen.  Dianne Feinstein (D-California) asking for documents concerning former FBI Director James Comey's interactions with Trump and his firing, documents related to former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and communications concerning Russian President Vladmir Putin, among others.

“Given your role on the campaign and in the White House, we believe that you have information that would assist the Committee in its investigation related to the 2016 presidential election and the dismissal of Director Comey,” Feinstein wrote.

Last month, the Washington Post reported a Russian social media executive reached out to Donald Trump's campaign, including social media director Dan Scavino during the 2016 presidential election, according to the Washington Post.

According to the Post, Konstantin Sidorkov, an executive at Vkontatke, Russia's Facebook, e-mailed Scavino, who now serves as Assistant to the President and Director of Social Media and Donald Trump, Jr. to help promote Trump's campaign to appeal to Russian Americans and Russians.

Scavino first met Trump in 1990 when he was a caddie at Briar Hall Golf Club in Briarcliff.

Trump would buy the golf course, rename it Trump National and Scavino rose up the ranks, later becoming executive vice president and general manager.
