Bairon Farez Llanos of 74 Dobbs Ferry Road in White Plains was found guilty of assault and attempted murder on July 27 after a jury trial.

Llanos was convicted on charges of:

-- two counts of second-degree attempted murder, a felony;

-- one count of first-degree assault, a violent felony;

-- one count of first-degree attempted assault, also a felony;

-- two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon in the Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor.

According to police and the D.A.'s Office, Llanos approached the victim outside the 34-year-old girlfriend's home at about 3:45 a.m. on July 19, 2015, and grabbed her by the ears on both sides of her head until her ears started to bleed.

Shortly thereafter, the defendant stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife. She suffered a stab wound to her neck and her back shoulder blade, a cut ear, a cut thyroid gland and a shredded internal jugular vein, the D.A.'s Office said in a press statement.

During the course of the stabbing, the victim’s 19-year-old son tried to intervene in order to protect his mother, police said. The defendant then got on top of the son, and while holding a kitchen knife, attempted to stab the son in the heart, police said. The son was able to deflect the knife, according to the D.A.'s Office, suffering only a cut to his chest.

The female victim was rushed to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla where she required emergency surgery.

Llanos was arrested the same day by the Greenburgh Police Department.

After sentencing, Llanos was remanded into the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections.

Assistant District Attorney Christine Hatfield and Assistant District Attorney Owein Levin of the Special Prosecutions Division prosecuted the case.
