According to a lohud report, county police said that over the weekend, 28-year-old Joshua Irizarry and 26-year-old Rolando Cabrera, Jr. allegedly refused to get off of bumper cars at Playland, which prompted the fight, where an officer and ranger were reportedly bitten and spat on.

Irizarry allegedly fought with the two men, putting the ranger in a headlock and attempting to choke him. He’s been charged with felony counts of second-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing, as well as resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.

Cabrera reportedly was charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly “impeding” rangers, but did not resist arrest like Irizarry. The incident was reportedly sparked by the two men, who felt that the bumper car ride was too short.

The ranger and officer were hospitalized as a precaution. Irizarry was also treated for a cut on his nose he suffered during the scuffle. Other rangers were reportedly also treated for minor injuries and bruises.
