Nearly 50 tickets were doled out during a special speed enforcement detail conducted by New York State Police troopers on the Sprain Brook Parkway in northern Westchester on Tuesday.
During the special detail on Tuesday, April 3, troopers in Greenburgh, Mount Pleasant and Yonkers dished out 45 tickets, including 31 that cited motorists for speeding.
The detail comes on the heels of several similar details on Westchester County parkways that has seen troopers issue more than 100 tickets on several dates. State police have also conducted similar special details on the I-684 and I-95 during the fall and winter.
According to police, these details will continue throughout the year as troopers make an effort to curtail dangerous driving and keep highways safe for motorists.
