Betsy Shernoff, 75, White Plains Resident

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Betsy Sandra Shernoff of White Plains died Wednesday, March 9. She was 75.

She was born in Brooklyn on Nov. 4, 1940, to Helen and Murray Tornick. She lived in White Plains for over 50 years. She earned a bachelor's degree at New York University and a master's degree in special education from Iona College. Her many interests included playing the cello, Japanese drumming, reading, Cajun dancing, gourmet cooking, gardening and floral arranging. She earned a certificate as a master gardener.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Leon Shernoff, Claire Shernoff and Eve Poupko; her grandchildren, Chana, Tzivi, Shlaime Simcha, Madelyn and Jacob; a brother, Kalman; and a sister, Lynne.

She was predeceased by her sister Glenda.
