About $220,000 will be spent on the project and the meters will be installed by this fall, lohud.com reported.
The new battery-powered meters will accept prepaid cards, a phone app and coins, the lohud.com story said.
Multi-space pay stations in municipal lots and garages also will accept Smart Cards, according to the lohud.com report.
The city’s Municipal Parking System includes eight garages, 23 lots and all on-street parking meters. All told, there are about 13,000 parking spaces in White Plains.
The cards will be available at the city’s parking offices in municipal garages, such as the one on Hamilton Avenue, the Parking Department said Friday.
