White Plains Native Zuckerberg Named To Forbes' 2016 Billionaires List

Three men with ties to the Hudson Valley were ranked in Forbes' top 25 billionaires in the world recently.

White Plains Native and former Dobbs Ferry resident Mark Zuckerberg was the highest rated mogul with ties to the area. The Facebook founder ranked No. 6 overall with a net worth of $44.6 billion, Forbes said.

Former New York City Mayor and North Salem homeowner Michael Bloomberg was ranked eighth overall with a net worth of $40 billion, Forbes reported. 

Bedford's George Soros ranked 23rd overall with a net worth of $24.9 billion. 

Beyond the Top 25, former Bedford resident Carl Icahn, ranks No. 43 with a net worth of $17 billion.

Also of note, GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford and golf clubs in Hopewell Junction and Briarcliff, checks in at at No. 324 with a net worth of $4.5 billion.

The top billionaire world-wide is Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who boasts a net worth of $75 billion.
