Evening commuters on all three Metro-North lines are experiencing lengthy delays Monday that began just before the 5 p.m. rush.

Metro-North Harlem and New Haven Line service is delayed in both directions up to 60 minutes due to police activity in the vicinity of Botanical Gardens Monday afternoon.

Metro-North reported the 60-minute delays in an announcement at 5:27 p.m. The delays were still reported as being an hour at 7:30 p.m.

Hudson Line delays of up to 30 minutes were repported buy Metro-North at 6:56 p.m. as a result of congestion, it said.

Previous Harlem and New Haven Line delays of 35 to 45 minutes had been reported by Metro-North in a 4:22 p.m. announcement.

Customers are advised to listen for announcements at local stations.
