Cancer Patient Says Medical Marijuana Has Given Her Hope

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Cancer patient Brittany Barger didn’t know exactly what to expect when she walked into the medical marijuana dispensary in downtown White Plains, but she did know she was taking a step toward taking her life back, according to lohud.com.

The 27-year-old New York woman told lohud.com that she has struggled with pain and weight loss due to the disease and the medications she has had to take.

She was among the first to legally buy cannabis in at Vireo Health of New York this week, and says having the option has given her hope that she will get some of her old independence back, the lohud.com story said.
