Bike Rodeo In White Plains Teaches Kids Safety, Skills

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Westchester Cycle Club will hold a free bike rodeo for children Sunday in White Plains.

Instructors from the League of American Bicyclists will share power starting and stopping techniques, guide the children on how to safely ride and improve their handling skills. 

The event will also feature bike safety checks, slalom courses and slow races. 

Participating children must be able to ride a two-wheel bicycle and be between the ages of 5 and 10. They must also bring their own bicycles and wear a helmet. 

The bike rodeo will take place at Mamaroneck Avenue and Quarropas Street in White Plains from 10 a.m.-noon.
