WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Sweets of all kinds were in abundance at the Chocolate World Expo in White Plains on Sunday.

Held at the Westchester County Center, the expo has been newly named the largest chocolate event in New York. It brings in 70 artisanal chocolatiers, along with wine, cheese and candy vendors for a true culinary experience.

Chocolate lovers from Westchester, New York City and surrounding counties packed the auditorium to sample chocolate cheeses, chocolate wines, chocolate beers, chocolate-flavored coffees and teas, chocolate-covered bacon, chocolate salad dressings, chocolate-covered pickles and even chocolate-infused bath products.

Other baked goods were available as well, including stuffed crepes, waffles, cannolis and pastries.

Chocolate Works of Scarsdale was the only Westchester chocolatier present. However, its truffles packed a big punch.

"Our truffles are by far our best seller. They've won tons of awards and contests. They're the best in all the land," owner Dave Larsen said.

White Plains' 42 The Restaurant was present as well. Its new pastry chef, Melissa Camacho, who recently appeared on "Top Chef: Just Desserts," gave a demonstration of popular cooking techniques using chocolate.

She spoke to the audience about the ingredients that come together to make chocolate, including the differences between bittersweet, semi-sweet and milk chocolate

She also revealed that white chocolate is not, in fact, chocolate, but is made of fat -- which surprised the audience.

"I hope I didn't upset anyone too badly with that, " she said.

Expo-goers also had the option to watch famous mentalist Marc Salem read people's minds, or hang out and take pictures with Spiderman.

Chocolate Works is at 450 Central Park Avenue.

42 The Restaurant is located at 1 Renaissance Square.
