Dexter’s Dog Boutique is to host the event in association with Pets Alive from noon-4 p.m. at 6423 Montgomery Street, according to a joint statement from the business and the animal shelter.

Eric and Dana Peterson named Dexter’s – their Rhinebeck shop offering only Hudson Valley and American-made goods – after their own rescue dog, Dexter, according to the statement, which added that the newlywed couple opened their business earlier this year.

According to the statement, the Petersons, who hosted a similar event this past summer, are “proud to offer an afternoon dedicated to dog adoption in the hopes more rescue dogs can find a safe, loving home.”

All Pets Alive dogs available at the Boutique’s summer adoption day found homes and it is hoped the coming event will be just as successful, according to the statement.

Pets Alive is a no-kill animal shelter in Middletown that is committed to improving the lives of companion animals through adoption, rescue, advocacy, collaboration, intervention and education, according to the statement.
