WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – It looks like those who were hoping for snow on Super Bowl Sunday will get their wish one day late.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Westchester County from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday.

Snow accumulations of between 3 to 5 inches are expected with locally higher amounts possible. Visibilities will be a half mile or less at times Monday morning into the early afternoon hours.

A light wintry mix is expected to begin after midnight, changing over to all snow on Monday morning as temperatures drop below the freezing mark. Snowfall is expected to taper off late in the afternoon on Monday.

The heavy, wet snow could cause tree branches or power lines to fall, causing power outages and disrupting travel.

Winds will be 10 to 15 mph with temperatures in the low 30s.

Is it the start of even more wintry weather? The ground hog saw its shadow on Sunday, predicting six more weeks of winter. Read about it here on Daily Voice.
