Portions of the area still reeling from the weekend blizzard that dropped as many as 20 inches of snow in some parts of the Lower Hudson Valley may be in for a more of the white stuff.

A new storm that could arrive in the area on Friday bears watching, according to AccuWeather.com.

Most models now have that storm tracking off to sea, but this past weekend's Nor'easter provided another example of how projections can often change quickly.

"The window of movement for the storm ranges from right along the coast to a few hundred miles out to sea," AccuWeather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said. "A storm that tracks near the coast could bring rain and heavy snow to the Interstate 95 corridor of the mid-Atlantic and New England, while a storm that tracks well to the east could keep heavy precipitation offshore of most locations."

Prior to Friday, some parts of the area could see snow showers as a weaker system passes through.

A chance of showers is possible throughout the day Tuesday and into the night, when low temperatures hovering near the freezing mark could make for freezing rain or snow showers in some spots, according to the National Weather Service.

Late Tuesday into Wednesday, forecasters are speculating that there could be additional snow showers followed by more rain. If snow showers do appear Wednesday, they're likely to end before 1 p.m., according to forecasts.
