I stand by my statement they did NOT HAVE CONTROL of the emergency. They stood or sat for five hours with no answer. They DID NOT SERVE anyone. I can read, spell and more importantly THINK. I shouldn't have to read a GPS to get from Ossining to croton...Finally, WHY SHOULDN'T THEY DIRECT TRAFFIC? THEY AREN'T DOING US ANY GOOD SITTING IN THEIR CARS! View Comment
Another garbage truck! So when are the County Police going to crack down on these unsecure trucks that blast up and down 9A through Ossining only to overturn in the same place? This one is really bad...traffic going both ways on 9 and 9A is completely at a standstill! To make matters worse our crack COUNTY POLICE has NO CLUE WHAT TO DO! They have assumed their normal position sitting comfortably in their cars no directing anyone where to go. I stopped and asked a COUNTY OFFICER how do I get to Croton Train Station...he shrugged and said...."I guess you go up the Taconic......where are the supervisors? Maybe put someone at 134 directing traffic...or posting a temporary detour rather than send people on a merry go round to nowhere. The COUNTY POLICE SINCE THE MERGER ARE A BUNCH OF INCOMPETENT JERKS! Why is it taking sooooo long to reopen the road??? It's 6 pm and it's long over. What is the County PD doing? Enough already....investigating what? He was driving too fast and lost control.....end of story! Just another example of incompetency by these police. Open the damn road!!!!!! View Comment
Nothing more than a witch hunt. By the way I hope the Town Board learned something about APPOINTED rather than ELECTED from the Town of Brookhaven this past winter. The Town of Brookhaven is a whole lot bigger than the Town of Ossining. All the more reason why consolidation of the two governments should go forward. Let the people of Ossining (both town and village) come together and get one government that truly listens to the people. Right now we have neither...the Village has RIVERGATE and the Town has HIGHWAY GATE. Time to get rid of all these people. amen
Can anyone tell me why the gas stations in Ossining are selling gas in the $4.20 a gallon range and the gas stations in Peekskill on Washington Ave are selling the same gas for $3.92? thats .28 cents a GALLON less. I urge all Ossining residents to boycott these stations in Ossining to send a message. View Comment
Eliminate one underused bus route or consolidate two together. Stop the process of stopping at every driveway on Dale Ave. for pre-K students. No transportation for 4 year olds on busses and eliminate one or two "assistants" to the "assistants" of the principals and how about a little "accounting" of overtime. That should easily cover the "expense" of a hockey team. View Comment
As always thanks to the GREAT FIRST RESPONDERS IN OSSINING!!!! OFD...thanks for volunteering!!!!! We are so lucky here in Ossining to have such great Emergency Services....OFD,OVAC and OPD!
Do have a question though..these renovations...were they illegal apartments? We have far too many of these "accidents waiting to happen" in the village and town of Ossining. View Comment
Ossining was a little sluggish in the first half but came out with a purpose for the second half. Another standout game for Jalay (the Chief) Knowles who had a good game off the boards. The Pride Rolls ON!
All I know is that in the last 5 years Westchester Medical Center went from being a GO TO hospital to a AVOID hospital when it comes to care. I myself and more than a few friends have had substandard care on more than one occaision in the ER. They have laid off so many good people and lost so many good doctors that I no longer want to be taken there in any emergency. View Comment
Knock on some more doors in Ossining..there are plenty more of these illegal "cribs" in lots of houses. While you are knocking kindly check the documentation of all the "alleged citizens" residing there. View Comment
Gee wouldn't it be nice if they could have come up with a 0% increase. Especially since we the taxpayers told the Board to take a hike with their Town Highway Superintendent appointment. The budget would have been much higher with a new one coming on board. View Comment
