Drivers who still need to find a way to get to Rockland County can take an alternate route. If you're coming from Westchester, take the Bear Mountain Bridge, which provides access to Rockland County.
To get to the Bear Mountain Bridge from White Plains, take 287-W and then exit 3 to get onto the Sprain Brook Parkway North, which turns into the Taconic Parkway. Take the Crompond Road exit in Yorktown, which then connects with Route 9 and will take you to the bridge.
After the bridge, the Bear Mountain Parkway connects to 9W, the Palisades Parkway, and I-87. The drive to the Bear Mountain Bridge from White Plains is approximately 34 miles.
The Bear Mountain Bridge is a $1.25 toll, heading eastbound.
Another alternative is taking the George Washington Bridge to New Jersey and using that to access Rockland.
To get to the George Washington Bridge, take the Bronx River Parkway South and then take the Cross County Parkway, followed by the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Henry Hudson Parkway. On the Henry Hudson, take exit 14 to Riverside Drive, which will take you to I-95 and the George Washington Bridge.
