Accident Shuts Down Old Tarrytown Road

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh police were investigating a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Old Tarrytown Road near the intersection of Knollwood Road shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, tying up rush-hour traffic in the town, according to Greenburgh Police Chief Chris McNerney.

Old Tarrytown Road is temporarily closed between Manhattan Avenue and Knollwood Road while detectives conduct an accident investigation. The closure is expected to last several hours, police said. 

Police asked motorists to avoid the area and take alternate routes if possible.
