A Teaneck motorist who told local police he had a temporary plate on his SUV because he was trying to sell the vehicle was arrested after he opened the rear hatch to look for a replacement, authorities said.
As soon as he did, officers who stopped Tyrone Martinez Blair, 51, on Teaneck Road spotted six temporary Georgia license plates, two different New Jersey plates and two different California plates in the back of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator, Teaneck Police Chief Andrew R. McGurr said.

UPDATE: An unemployed Franklin Lakes man stabbed, bludgeoned and drowned his 87-year-old father in their home, then went to the police station to confess to the murder, according to a report outlining the horrific assault.
David Allen Hagal, 60, was charged with murder and illegal weapons possession in the brutal murder of his 87-year-old father.
Borough police rushed to the home, found the body of George J. Hagal and took David Allen Hagal, 60, into custody shortly after 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.

Dueling Protesters Rally As Teaneck Passes Resolution Supporting Israel, Denouncing Hamas
The scene outside Teaneck's municipal building showed a clear divide on Tuesday night, Oct. 17.
On one side, a sea of Palestinian supporters waved flags, chanting "Free Palestine," and "Israel is a terror state."
On the other, throngs of Israeli supporters held signs expressing support for the people kidnapped by Hamas while singing Hatikvah, Israel's national anthem, and other songs in Hebrew.
This went on for hours, both during and after the Township of Teaneck unanimously passed a resolution supporting Israel and denouncing Hamas following the Saturday, Oct. 7 Hamas attack.

Domestic Violence Arrest Also Solves Teaneck Car Wash Stabbing, Police Say
Teaneck police solved a stabbing at a local car wash when they arrested a township man for domestic violence, authorities said.
Police responding to a domestic violence call arrested Keno Campbell, 21, on aggravated assault, terroristic threats and weapons charges, Police Chief Glenn M. O’Reilly said Thursday.
While there, officers realized Campbell was a suspect in a stabbing at the Teaneck Car Wash on Teaneck Road on Dec. 9, 2021, the chief said.
The victim told police Campbell was upset about being splashed with water, O’Reilly said.
