LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. – The White Plains Rockets Under-16-boys soccer team advanced to the U.S. Club Soccer's National Cup XI by winning the Northeast Regional event on May 26 to 28 and will advance to the cup finals to be held at Waukegan Sports Park in Waukegan Ill. On July 27 to 30.

“The Northeast Regional was a terrific event, from the incredible atmosphere to professionalism of the staff and high quality of the venue,” said Ed Fisher, manager of the U-16 Boys Premier Group champion White Plains Rockets. “The team faced very strong competition and played excellently, including prevailing in overtime in the final game.”

Fisher said many of the Rockets' players have been playing together since they were seven-years-old on White Plains Youth Soccer Association teams.

"They are overjoyed to have finally achieved their dream of winning a Regional and advancing on to the National Cup Finals," Fisher said.
