The White Plains native was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Tournament after leading the Fighting Tigers to their first-ever NEAC Championship and NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament Automatic Bid.
Nunez averaged 26.0 points per game on 66.7 percent (18-of-27) shooting from the field and 76.2 (16-of-21) percent from the free throw line to go along with 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assist and 1.0 steal per game over two games.
Nunez opened the tournament with a bang on Saturday, with a career-high 33 points, while also adding four assists and four rebounds in a 79-69 win over Penn State Abington in the tournament’s semifinals.
The senior then followed that up with a game-high 19 points in the 49-46 win over tournament host Lancaster Bible College that clinched the title for Cobleskill on Sunday.
