White Plains' 11 and under baseball team after winning its fourth District 20 championship, 8-4, over Harrison. They advanced to Saturday's opening State Tournament round with a Section 3 North Championship victory on Monday in Elmsford.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A pair of White Plains Little League baseball teams advanced to State Tournament playoff games this week.

Three White Plains boys' baseball teams and a girls' softball team had a great summer run this season. They took home Division 20 Championship titles in the 9- and 10-year-old softball division, 11 and under baseball division, 12 and under baseball division and the Junior Division.

On Monday, the 11U baseball team went on to win the Section 3 North Championship title with a 7-1 victory over Pine Bush at Piccoli Field in Elmsford. The 11U baseball team heads to the State Tournament on Saturday in Colonie, N.Y. The team won its opening Section 3 game, 9-1, and the semi-final playoff on Saturday, 4-1. 

On Tuesday, White Plains' Junior Division baseball team begins its first round of State Tournament competition at 10 a.m. against Penfield on Long Island. Junior Division players won the Section 3 North championship game on Thursday with a 15-12 win over Stony Point at Castle Hill Field in the Bronx. It marked the Junior Division's first-ever Section 3 title. 

Earlier this month, White Plains' 11U team won its fourth District 20 Championship with an 8-4 victory over Harrison. White Plains' Jimmy Keenan slammed a three-run home run to put White Plains ahead. A triple by Mason Lang and then a triple by Declan Bruton helped build a lead for White Plains. In the bottom of the sixth, Harrison got two runners on base when outfielder Jake Dorchak made a game-saving catch and a throw to second from the knees for the double play to secure the Division title. 

White Plains' 12U baseball team was knocked out of the Sectional playoffs with a loss in the semi-final round.The city's 9- and 10-year-old girls softball team also was eliminated during Sectional playoffs 

Four sets of siblings played for White Plains' teams this season: Jake and Matthew Dorchak, Jimmy and Jack Keenan, Andrew and Nick Gomez and Caroline and Jack Hart.
