WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Katrina M. Adams, a former tennis star, White Plains resident and United States Tennis Association volunteer, has earned the CEO position with the association, according to a report by LoHud.com.

When she takes her place as CEO, she'll be known as the group's youngest CEO, its first former pro tennis player and its first African-American CEO, the report said.

Adams plans to make tennis a more diverse sport, according to the report.

During her professional tennis years, she ranked as high as No. 67 in singles and No. 8 in doubles, the report said.
