White Plains Girls Soccer Coach Resigns Amid Controversy

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The White Plains High School varsity girls soccer coach resigned after an investigation revealed he left an injured player on the bus while trying to get into the school after a game on Sept. 10, according to LoHud.com.

Former head coach Carlos Mejia left player Erin McGee on the bus after returning from a game against Ossining while he looked for a custodian to unlock the school, LoHud.com said.

Mejia continued to coach until the Board of Education launched an investigation into the incident on Sept. 16. Mejia submitted his resignation on Sept. 20 and the BOE accepted it three days later, according to LoHud.com.
