WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The White Plains Generals 9-and-under baseball team, led by general manager Sander Gjokaj and head coach Wally Halas, won its season-opening game on June 25 and havent looked back since, winning seven straight games and outscoring opponents by an average of 4-1 per game.
The Generals most recent victory came in a 9-1 victory over Rye Brook Blue, a team the Generals defeated earlier in the season.The Generals once again had solid pitching, allowing only six hits over six innings. Mathew Halas and Collin Darcy each pitched two scoreless innings and Brandon Flissler, Collin Darcy and Khari Wilson each struck out three.
The Generals offense stroked nine hits, led by Justin Hanratty and Justin Di Savino with two hits apiece. Collin Darcy hit a double and Mathew Halas, Shane Regan, Khari Wilson and Tyler OBrien each recorded one hit a piece. The Generals next game is scheduled for Wednesday evening, July 20 at their Home Field (White Plains High School) versus Ardsley Blue.
