WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The White Plains High School varsity football team is poised to take another step toward a Section 1 football title when it travels to East Fishkill to meet John Jay High School in the Class AA semifinals on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Tigers (6-1) are led by a stubborn defense with defensive end Lukas Repetti anchoring the front line. Quarterback Cameron Crabbe and power running back Chris Jordan key the offense and Repetti adds blocking and a receiving threat at tight end.
White Plains shut down Ramapo 27-0 in the Class AA quarterfinals with Jordan rushing for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Crabbe passed for 128 yards and two scores. The Tigers depends on their defense which had three interceptions last week against Ramapo.
John Jay (7-1), from East Fishkill, features quarterback Ryan Schumaker and running back Jared Sanchez, who helped lift the team to a tight 17-10 victory over Scarsdale in last week's quarterfinals.
The winner of this semifinal will face the winner of the Ketcham-North Rockland semifinal at noon on Nov. 9 at Mahopac High School for the Section 1 championship.
