White Plains' Avery Recalls Top Three Moments

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains High School quarterback Jeff Avery joins thousands of local high school seniors this month who will be moving on to college with fond memories of their time in school and on the playing fields.

Avery, who led the Tigers football team to a 5-4 record and a spot in the Class AA semifinals last fall, was a pocket passer with a strong throwing arm. He was recruited by Muhlenberg, Hobart, New Haven, Stonehill and Union colleges and chose to attend Salve Regina in Newport, Rhode Island where he will play football.

Before moving on to the next stage of his education, Avery listed the three most vivid memories if his high school career, in which he was also a track and field athlete and lacrosse player.

Avery's top three memories are:

1. An undefeated season on freshman team.

2. Beating New Rochelle on junior varsity and freshman teams.

3. A come-from-behind victory against Arlington last season when we were down 9-0 and had a fourth quarter comeback to win 15-9.
