Westchester Players Set Sites On NCAA Men's Lacrosse Final Four Weekend

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Pelham native Matt Landis looks to win a NCAA men’s lacrosse championship with Notre Dame this weekend.

Notre Dame (12-2)  plays Denver in a national semifinal Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Johns Hopkins meets Maryland in the other quarterfinal. Landis, a junior, was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year and played a huge role for Notre Dame in a win over Albany last week.

Jack Near, a senior from Bronxville, and Zack Bartolo, a sophomore from Norwalk, Conn., are also on the Notre Dame roster.

Denver’s roster includes Colin Woolford, a junior from Norwalk who played at Choate Rosemary Hall.

Maryland’s roster features Darien’s Henry West, a junior, and Eric Parnon, a senior. Ridgefield’s Will Bonaparte and Easton’s Connor Kelly, both freshman, are also on Maryland’s roster.

Matt Ledwin of Cortlandt Manor, Trevor Koelsch of Yorktown and Kelly Bronson of Easton are on John Hopkins’ roster.

Notre Dame meets Denver at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Maryland plays John Hopkins at 3:30. The winners advance to Monday’s title game, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
