Stepinac Lacrosse Streaks to Fourth Straight Win

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Archbishop Stepinac lacrosse team has reversed its early-season struggles, winning its fourth game in a row in Tuesday's 11-0 victory over St. Raymond's to even its record at 5-5, predicting a bright outlook for the rest of the spring season.

"I feel that we have a very talented team and when we play smart team lacrosse, we are a very dangerous team," Crusaders captain Nick Shaw said. "I think some of are strong points are our transition play and we have a lot of athletic kids who can run up and down the field and like to play at a fast pace. We have a lot to work on to reach our true potential and we just need to keep the momentum and keep winning games."

Shaw leads a group of Crusaders who rely on each other in a balanced offense. Robbie Grey and Spencer O'Toole, who each scored twice in Tuesday's win, Dom Vallario, Andrew Murray, Dave Schwartz and Mike Teelan also scored in the win. Murray scored four times in last week's 13-5 victory over Tottenville on April 21 and Murray and O'Toole each added three goals. O'Toole and Murray each had another three goals in an 11-4 victory over Mount St. Michael on April 19, the second win in the four-game streak.

Bobby DiNapoli has been solid goal and shares time with Sean Piers, who has also been strong in the net. The two goalies shared the shutout victory over St. Ray's.
