WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Spencer O'Toole, Robbie Gray and Andrew Murray each scored twice Tuesday to lead the Archbishop Stepinac High School lacrosse team to a 9-5 victory over Mount St. Michael Academy in the semifinals of the Catholic High School Athletic Association Class A playoffs.
The Crusaders (10-11) will travel to Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island on Friday at 4:30 p.m. to play in the New York City CHSAA Class A championship with the winner moving on to play the Long Island CHSAA Class A winner in the downstate championship game.
Stepinac led the close contest 5-3 at halftime and extended the lead to 8-4 with three goals in the decisive third quarter. Chrystian Lopez and Anthony Molina each added a goal and Nick Shaw recorded two assists for Stepinac.
Stepinac Goaltender Bobby DiNapoli turned away nine shots on goal.
