WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — The Stepinac boys lacrosse team won the fifth of its last six matches Tuesday, defeating St. Joseph's, 16-9, in Catholic High Schools Athletic Association play.

The Crusaders, who opened the season with three straight losses, upped their record to 7-6 with another strong performance by the defense. Goalies Bobby DiNapoli and Shane Pires stopped 13 shots on goal in shared duty in the nets.

Andrew Murray and Spencer O'Toole each scored five goals, and Dom Vallario added three for the high-scoring offense, which led 10-4 at halftime.
