Stepinac Grid Iron Club To Induct Class Of 2012

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. ? Archbishop Stepinac football coach Mike O'Donnell and 11 other coaches and athletes will be inducted into the White Plains high school's Grid Iron Club during ceremonies Sept. 6 at Mansion on Broad Knights of Columbus.

The ceremony, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., celebrates the history of Stepinac football and honors those who have contributed to the program over the years.

In addition to O'Donnell, who has been head coach for 25 years and on the Stepinac staff for 32 years, the Class of 2012 includes coach Bruce Henry (1972-1977); Dick Disbrow (Class of 1952), who played at the University of Tennessee; George Marklay (1952), head coach at Moeller High School; James "Babe" McAuley (1978), former coach at Iona College, the 1984 Division Champions; Beau Riely (Georgetown University, 1990); Lt. Col. James Riely (West Point, 1992); Dan Riely (Catholic University, 1996) and Terrance Keyahas (Siena College and Iona College, 2001).

Former Coach Kevin Magee, who was on staff for 17 years, will receive the Fr. Pete Gelsomino Award.
