ARMONK, N.Y. More than 90 golfers turned out Monday to play in the 12th Annual Joseph R. Riverso Memorial Foundation's Golf Outing at Brynwood Golf & Country Club, an effort that honors the memory of former Archbishop Stepinac High School football star Joe Riverso, who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 World Trade Center attacks.
The event, which benefits a scholarship fund at Stepinac, presented scholarships to Stepinac student/athletes Austin Taps, Caleb-Gilligan-Evans, Nick Shaw and AJ Revellese and Ryan Waslenko received scholarships.
Riverso, a football and golf standout at Stepinac and graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, remained a Stepinac booster throughout the years since his graduation in 1986.
