Fox Lane High School Hall Of Fame Inducts Class Of 2013

BEDFORD, N.Y. – Committee members of the Fox Lane High School Sports Hall of Fame recently announced the inductees for the Class of 2013.

Fox Lane’s Hall of Fame was founded in 1995 and now includes more than 100 members.

Without further ado, here is the Fox Lane High School Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2013: Salvatore “Butch” Amuso, Class of 1961

Amuso was selected for his accomplishments playing football, wrestling and baseball.  He's the older brother of fellow Fox Lane Hall of Famer Joe Amuso.  Some of Butch’s highlights:

All-County football in 1959, 1960, voted by Lakeland H.S. as most respected opponent 1960; All-County baseball player 1960, 1961; All-County wrestler 1960, 1961, Section 1 champion 1961 (168 lbs.). The Bradley Family of Mount Kisco

Fran and Dot:

Fran played football and basketball as a senior at Mount Kisco High School after his family moved here from Boston. 

Dot played field hockey, volleyball, basketball, softball, and she was a cheerleader at Mount Kisco High School.  They were also high school sweethearts. 

They had five daughters:

Linda: Class of 1975.  She was a cheerleader.   Kate: Class of 1976.  She was a cheerleader and a track athlete. Susan: Class of 1979.  She was a cheerleader and a field hockey player.  She was also the first "stats girl" for the football and boys lacrosse teams -- a tradition that continues today. Joann: Class of 1984.  She's already a Hall of Famer as an individual (Class of 1999) for field hockey, gymnastics, and lacrosse.  Debbie: Class of 1986.  She played field hockey, gymnastics, and lacrosse. Her highlights include being a four-year varsity field hockey, gymnastics, lacrosse (1980-84); 1981-player for the first girls varsity lacrosse team in FLHS history (freshman); three-time all-county field hockey player; two-time all-county gymnast. She also set FLHS school records in four gymnastics events: floor exercise, uneven bars, balance beam and vault. Antoinette "Toni" Racanelli, Class of 1992   Racanelli was selected for her achievements playing volleyball and lacrosse as a student-athlete, as well as her accomplishments as a coach of girls tennis, girls lacrosse, and volleyball.  She's now a gym teacher at Fox Lane Middle School. 

Her career at FLHS includes three-time league volleyball champion (1989-91), three-time all-section volleyball player (89-91), 1991 Volleyball All-County Player of the Year, 2-time volleyball player for Team Hudson Valley scholastic division in Empire State Games (1990, 91), 1991-first team in FLHS history to compete in NYS tournament-NYS Finalist.

In lacrosse, she was part of the 1992-undefeated league champs 10-0-1, and an all-league, all-section player, Section 1 Final Four.  She also went on to become the head coach of varsity volleyball 2002-07, leading the team to the NYS Final Four in 2005.

The Class of 2013 was formally inducted into the Hall of Fame during a luncheon ceremony inside the FLHS gym as part of the pre-game festivities of the 2013 Homecoming Football Game on Saturday, Sept. 28. 

They were also introduced to the Bedford Central School District community on the field at halftime of the football game versus the Mamaroneck Tigers in a Section 1, Class AA matchup. 

Fox Lane defeated Mamaroneck 14-0.
