WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Former Archbishop Stepinac High School football player Brendan Nugent has been hired by the Chicago Bears as Offensive Quality Control Coach.
Nugent was an assistant coach with the Canadian Football League Montreal Alouettes under Marc Trestman, who was hired as the Bears head coach this week and added Nugent to his staff.
The 30-year-old Nugent was captain of the Crusaders football team in 2000-2001 and an assistant at Stepinac in 2005 under current coach Mike O'Donnell. He also attended Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School in White Plains.
"Brendan played every position but line," O'Donnell said of his former player and assistant. "He is a great person and coach."
Prior to joining the Alouettes in 2012, Nugent worked for five seasons (2006-11) at the College of William & Mary as running backs and tight ends coach.
