Archbishop Stepinac Football Standout Commits To Rhode Island

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Archbishop Stepinac wide receiver Giancarlo Furio committed to the University of Rhode Island on Wednesday.

Furio caught 31 passes for 437 yards and seven touchdowns for the Crusaders, and averaged 14.1 yards per catch.

He also had offers from Wagner, Stetson, Assumption and St. Anselm. Furio lives in the Bronx.

Earlier this week, wide receiver T.J. Morrison received a scholarship offer from Bucknell University. Morrison caught 11 passes for 195 yards and four touchdowns, and had four interceptions on defense. He was also a dangerous punt returner. He is the first Stepinac junior to be offered a scholarship this year.
