White Plains Teachers Voting On New Contract

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A new two-year contract for White Plains teachers is set to be approved by the teachers union Tuesday.

The contract between the district and the union was agreed upon at the June 11 Board of Education meeting.

Under the new contract, a first-year teacher with a bachelor's degree will earn $56,161, while a first-year teacher with a doctorate will earn $79,321. 

Teachers will also pay slightly more into their health insurance from 13.5 percent to 14 percent in 2017-2018 and 14.25 percent in 2018-2019.
