WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – David Lumelsky finished third in the Tri-County Science Fair’s High School Engineering and Technology Division held at White Plains High School.
The White Plains High School junior is a member of the Science Research program. He was one of nine members of the program representing White Plains High School at the fair April 19, which is open to all students in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Lumelsky’s project was titled “Ice Release Coatings on Aircraft Frames to Prevent Icing during Flight into Known Icing Conditions.”
Top winners in the middle and high school divisions go on to participate in the State Science Congress Competition of the Science teachers Association of New York State (STANYS).
