WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A group of Archbishop Stepinac High School students handed out Thanksgiving food baskets to the homeless in the Bronx on Wednesday morning.
“We really try to foster charity and love, especially for the less fortunate, because we’re believers,” said the Rev. Justin Cinnante, who led the trip. “We try to bring the love of Christ to other people, especially through our charity and empathy.” The 15 students accompanying Cinnante brought Thanksgiving side dishes, such as potatoes, stuffing and canned goods for the needy. Cinnante said Stepinac students try to do charitable work once a month. Recently, he went with 40 students to Staten Island to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The school chaplain said students get a lot out of the trip because of how much they help others.
