Joseph Cloherty, principal of the school, organized the event which was directed by Matt Hommez, Laura Mazziotti, Jody Kennedy, among others.

Among those in attendance was Superintendent of Schools and Marine Corps veteran Timothy Connors. A musical tribute was featured in the day's events and included songs representative of the various branches of service, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard.

The featured speaker was Vito Pinto who is a veteran, and is the Director of the Westchester County Veterans Service Administration. Pinto asked that on Veterans Day the students should always keep in mind the "Three R's: remember, respect and reflect."

Participants in the program included the sixth-grade band and chorus, the Boy and Girl Scouts of America, and a variety of student speakers. The highlight of the program was a video montage which included pictures of relatives and friends of the students and faculty, who have served our country.

As the veterans stood to be recognized, the entire student body gave a standing ovation. The veterans concluded their visit with the students in a reception following the ceremony. Coffee and cake was served and personal anecdotes were shared.
